Fun Shapes in Polymer Clay

Well, I am finally back to post a picture of my next challenge. Yes, I am running behind now due to illness, home construction, and grand babies, but I will catch up.

I posted a fun shape for a polymer clay pendant on my last post and I made more shapes to go with that pendant. I recently bought one of Melanie Muir's shape templates for an online class which I am waiting to do with a polymer clay buddy of mine since we both purchased the same class. In the meantime, I thought I would have some fun trying out this shape template. I am in the process of creating two pieces that I am donating for an auction back in my home state to help a friend who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. This necklace is my challenge for week # 21 of the 2015 Polymer Clay Challenge and one of the necklaces that I will be donating for the auction.

Faux shell and Faux red abalone shell pendants

I also created some earrings to match this piece, here they are with the piece that I created. I would have done matching earrings, but I thought these carved round beads would be an excellent match. Plus, you can wear them with another outfit and necklace!

Earrings: Carved cinnabar round beads

I had some little challenges this week. My toaster oven spiked and burned the first set of pendants, so I had to start all over. That has not happened to me in a long while. I was angry because I was on the last stage of baking them. It is tough when you work hard at something and then have to throw it away and start over...not fun at all. Well, I am off to start on the second necklace...wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
