Getting into the Creative Christmas Groove

Every year Christmas always seems to sneak up on me. I always have the greatest intentions to get organized before it arrives but never seem to be ahead of the game...still trying to get Christmas cards out and shopping for gifts. I did take a little time out to work on some polymer clay. I have been wanting to make these Christmas polymer clay earrings since last year and I finally got around to making them. These particular earrings were made using the toner transfer method which happens to be one of my favorite techniques.

I also have been wanting to use these wonderful large size silver bells as Christmas ornaments for over a year now...just didn't have any ideas up my sleeve on how to go about using them with polymer clay. Sculpting is not one of my strengths but I like to give it my best shot. I love the Hallmark angels so I tried my best at creating a similar angel with wire wings and attaching it to the top of the bell. I added the little red heart (which says hope). I did add a wire in the body of the angel to give it support. The wings were made using 28 gauge dark annealed steel wire. I plan to gift this one to a sweet friend of mine in my Pay It Forward group. She has had a tough year.

I sure hope she likes my Angel Bell Ornament. I think I need to go purchase some more of these large silver bells! Maybe next year, I can make more of these cute angels!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

2015 Polymer Clay Challenge

Hello again, I finally got around to updating my blog a little. I am still in the process of retrieving my Flickr account which has been frozen. I can't access it and I hope to get that squared away before the New Year. Wish me luck! If you are computer or Yahoo savvy, please let me know how I can do that. I am still waiting on a reply from Yahoo. I would hate to lose all my pictures but I suppose I could start fresh this coming year. Clean slate and all that but still, it would be a shame, all those photos since 2008!

Well, I am not about to let that keep me down...so what better way to start the new year than with a polymer clay challenge. Thanks to Katie Oskin from KatersAcres who invited me to join in the 2015 Polymer Clay Challenge. The challenge is to commit yourself to be creative in 2015.  My commitment will be to finish a project within a week and share it here on my blog. What a great way to meet new artists from around the globe by blogging and a great way to get creative and skilled in polymer clay!

If you are interested in joining this challenge, head over to KatersAcres...click here on 2015 Polymer Clay Challenge for more information.

Make 2015 a creative year!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
