Headed for the Pine Country

I have been busy packing and getting ready for our annual Polymer Clay Retreat in Prescott, Arizona. It is always tough trying to decide what to pack because I never know what I will be creating. I usually take several tutorials to work on, but if we have some demonstrations at the retreat, I would definitely want to have the necessary stuff to try them out.  So here I go packing everything except the kitchen sink!
There are a little over 20 of us from our guild (AZPCG) going up...should be a blast and somewhat cooler. After hosting a baby shower for my daughter this past weekend, this will be a welcomed treat! For the past week, I have been working on these little covered mint tins for her shower (party favors). The theme for the shower was Rock Stars which she is hoping to have for her nursery as well. Except that my daughter doesn't always go traditional...she didn't want to go with blue (she is having a boy), instead she picked bright green and dark grey for her colors. I made 24 polymer clay covered mint tins which took me a couple of days to finish. My sisters drove out for the shower which was great! They were a big help and we spent one whole day shopping at our favorite craft stores!

I also managed to get a pendant done before packing up all my polymer clay stuff. I embossed the metal and added the polymer clay piece onto the metal piece...a little practice on toner transfer techniques because I plan to make some up at the retreat. I came across these metal flower petals (different sizes in a pack of 4) at a scrapbook store and thought they would look great with polymer clay...also fun to emboss!

I am also hoping to be able to catch up on my 52 pair of Earring Challenge while I am up at the retreat. I am so behind...hope they haven't given up on me.  Well, time to finish packing for my trip!

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

"In the Pink" For My Friend Lori

I was so excited to part of "In the Pink". It has been a real pleasure to participate in Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog Parties! When I heard about this special dedication for Lori, I knew I had to be part of it. I really don't know how Lori does it to bring so many artists together for this wonderful party and every time the number grows. I have met so many talented artists through these bead soup parties...Lori being not only talented but a very sweet, giving person, and friend. I know she puts in a lot of her time arranging these parties and assigning bead partners...a lot of work!  The bead soup blog parties are not only fun but challenging. I always look forward to the big reveal day so I can see all the wonderful creations and designs. And I would like to add that I have also grown creatively as a jewelry designer because of these parties. I was happy to dress in pink and yes add pink to my hair in honor of Lori's pink streaks!
