December...The Month of Giving

I love December for many reasons: it is my birthday month and Christmas. It is the one month that people have a heart for giving, but I do wish every month was identical to this month. As a Christian, I celebrate the Lord's birth and what it means to me. I just celebrated my birthday on Monday. I went to visit my folks this past weekend in New Mexico (a present from my hubby) and took my grandbaby, Ella, and daughter, Rachel with me.

We had a great time, but I wouldn't recommend traveling on one's birthday...a little stressful. We had help with our baggage on the way out but not so much on the way back which is when we needed it the most...baby and mamma tired. I know my daughter looks pretty young here...she is actually 25 yrs. old but  she doesn't look it.

In celebrating the joy of Christmas, my birthday, and because I was one of the lucky winners of Lori Anderson's Virtual Craft Show, I am having a giveaway.

All you have to do for a chance to win this holiday (Mokume Gane) polymer clay jewelry set is leave a comment on my blog letting me know why the month of December is your favorite month too. I will be picking a winner on the 19th.

Oh, want to see what I won on Lori Anderson's Virtual Craft Show?  A beautiful pendant/necklace handmade by Kathy Pieprzyk from YorkAvenueStudio.

Kathy creates some beautiful artisan sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. I ended up purchasing some beautiful silver hoop earrings to go with the beautiful pendant.

Please, if you have some time take a look at all her beautiful creations on her Etsy store, YorkAvenueStudio...click here!

When I returned on Monday from my trip, I was greeted with cards from my family and so many birthday wishes on Facebook that my heart was so full. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and such a loving family!

So, don't forget to leave a comment. Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

  1. Hi Lupe. Very pretty set, again, {I just saw it on facebook}. December is very special to me because of Christmas {the joy and peace one feels can not always be described}, and I agree it opens the hearts of many though we should have that same feeling all year long. December is also special because.... I celebrate my birthday {the 16th}, my Dad's {the 14th, though he is no longer with us}, my daughter's {the 23rd}, my other daughter's {the 27th}, my brother-in-law {the 24th} and my son-in-law {the 27th}. What a handful!

  3. Lupe, that set is beautiful, what a great giveaway. I already have some of your beautiful pieces and I really treasure them. December has always been my favorite. I love this time of year and the great spirit everyone shows. It's unfortunate it's gotten so commercial. There is a reason for Christmas and a lot of people forget to tell their children why there is a Christmas. When I was young I knew where my mom hid all the presents and I would open them long before Christmas and rewrap them. One year she caught me and didn't give me all my gifts until 2 days later. She kept all the good ones and only gave me the underwear.

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

  4. Lupe, once again you created something beautiful. I love December because it is a time to cool down from from the summer, reflect on the year of blessings and trials received and begin the dreams for the new year.
