A Denim Bracelet for Bracelets of Hope

Well, the Bracelet Blog Hop has officially begun!  I was asked to design a bracelet for 7000 Bracelets of Hope and blog about it. We were asked to design an adult size bracelet with blue beads (denim blue/jean themed).  All the bracelets from this Bracelet Blog Hop will then be mailed off to The Global Genes Project and will be distributed to the families of children with rare diseases. What a great way to show them them that they are supported and loved!  Well, this is the bracelet that I designed.

I love denim...who doesn't. I like the fact that Polymer Clay is so versatile, so I tried coming up with something similar to denim. Lucky for me, I still had a package of Studio by Scupley in "Denim Jean" no less (they have been discontinued for now).  I then used a small piece of denim to texture my clay and made it into a disc-shape...baked it and white washed it. After the disc bead was made, I felt something was missing...it was a little too plain, so I cut a few strips of denim material and incorporated in with the bead.  I then added the czech and blue glass pearl beads on a few of the links on the bracelet. The bracelet measures approximately 8"  (is adjustable) and attached to the end of the links is a little charm that says, "Hope".
